Irish TV need NOT apply!

Two of my favorite shows on TV are Copper and Ray Donovan.  They are also the only TWO shows that focus on Irish customs and Irish family life.  I am speechless that BBC America cancelled one of their highest rated shows called Copper!  Irish roots weave all around the world and we have NO TV shows but Ray Donovan left to represent the Irish!  How can this be?  It's a sad day to learn that Copper is cancelled and that there are very FEW Irish TV shows here in the USA!  When I win the lottery....IRISH TV NEEDS TO APPLY!!!!

Monday Madness with FTDNA

What are the odds that BOTH family members mtdna tests are returned for bad samples???  On Mothers Day I bought my mom and my great aunt a mtdna test for 49.00 from Family Tree DNA.  I have been checking weekly with anticipation the progress of both their tests that were sent back the end of May. First I notice my Moms test date was getting pushed back and I started to get a little bit anxious and then it was returned and was a do over!!!!  They told mom that we would get a 25.00 credit and her test would be done very soon and not have to wait the usual time.  So once again back to the drawing board and checking her test kit weekly,  getting the excitement back again and then the date shows MID NOVEMBER!!!!  Now I am pissed!  Yes, I have NO shame and got my mom riled up and she called (very hard to locate a phone number and it was NOT a 800 number either!!!) and demanded to know what was going on!!!  They told her they would once again put a RUSH on hers and that my Aunt Frances test was getting returned also!!!!!  I ask you what are the ODDS that this can be happening????  Very upset with FTDNA and a 25.00 future credit cannot replace a broken heart!!!

First of 2 marriage Certificates

CcThis is the first marriage certificate of Carmella Chiafullo and Rafaelle Gelso.  They were married by a Justice of the Peace in NYC.  I wonder if they were married in Italy BEFORE they married here?  Another puzzle is WHY is Rafaelle's parents last name Fasano and not Gelso?  WHY is Carmella's parents named Fasano when it should be Onorfrio and Angela Chiafullo as her parents?  Have anyone else come across more than one marriage certificate for a couple?  The witnesses for the marriage were Carmella's father Onorfrio Chiafullo and her sister Francesca Strollo.  Francesca Strollo is the biggest brick wall of all.  I am hoping to find any info about her!

Browsing thru my Mom's baby book from 1942 is a wealth of needed info for the unlabeled pics I own.  It also shows our closest family members who were special enough to attend Amelia Grandinetti's SECOND birthday party in 1943.  Thanks to my grandmother Enda Gelso Grandinetti for such great notes.  The list is as follows:  Marie Cammarano, Anthony Cammarano, Angela Trimboli, Emile Grandinetti, Mella Vecchio, Aunt Rosie Gelso Cammarano, Aunt Lousie Trimboli, Aunt Angelina Gelso Vecchio, Lolly Jiampa, Rocky Jiampa, Rosie Ruffini.  Gifts from those NOT present.  Sammy Gelso, Godmother Angie Damato Mancuso, Johnny Gelso, Aunt Anna Gelso Vaccarelli & Eck Vecchio.

Any of these names ring a bell to anyone?
